Anyone been here ? Looks like a good place , we could then drive down from the UK . Any experiences of this location or reccomendations of where to stay ?

We stayed in an apartment in the naturist village a couple of years ago. It's a nice development, fairly quiet, family friendly, good sandy beach. There are a couple of restaurants and a little shopping centre which you can visit naked. We really enjoyed our visit. Because of its location, the "season" is fairly short.

The "season" is always short in France - something to do with the fact that all the French take their holiday at the same time.

So on your visit was everyone naked walking around the streets and in the shops and restaurants ?
What about early mornings when colder ? What about people excercising ? Min runs at least 8-10 times in 2 weeks around 8-10 miles at a time , she would not run naked . What do other runners do ?
What do the staff wear , are they naked ?

If you look at plans of the village (Google Images search for leucate naturist) you'll see the names of the various separate developments which make up the village.  We stayed in Oasis, and the little shopping centre is in Aphrodite.  You can wander naked throughout the developments and the beach, and most people did in June when we were there, including the shopping centre.  I walked naked every morning to the shops for the most wonderful fresh baguettes and croissants.  Obviously, if it's cooler, people wear something.  The staff in the shops are clothed.  The gardeners, etc, are clothed.  I didn't see any runners, but Min wouldn't be out of place running dressed, and there are lots of roads in the area which would be suitable.

 8) Not sure if I would be comfortable shopping for my fresh  bread naked, not bothered about any one looking at me naked at all but how about the hygiene element . :-* Cheers Sunpics

What hygiene element?  The staff in the shops are clothed.

 8) Being all hot and some times a little sweaty in this hot clime , I would prefer cloths in the food shop thank you, dripping body fluids all over my food would be a bit much.
Not bothered about being naked in a bar having drinks .  8) Cheers Sunpics

Agreed. At a formal dinner inside, I would prefer to be clean and sitting on a towel. However, for outside food like at a bar in the sand, I really don't care and I wish others wouldn't either.
Biking and beaches - total freedom

All the food shops which I have visited in naturist locations have been air conditioned - mainly for the comfort of the clothed staff and protection of the merchandise, I suspect.
Under these circumstances the possibility of dripping sweat does not arise in my experience.
In addition I'm not entirely sure that the clean human bodies of a naturist environment are not actually more hygienic than the dirt impregnated clothing which is inevitably present in ordinary urban food stores.

8)I take your point on board about the naked shopping. I like to maximize my naked holiday time and that all important all over tan, I am only clothed in the hotel bars dinning rooms or pool side. On the beach or in  the room and on the balcony it is naked for us. 8) Cheers Sunpics

I stayed there several times when I lived in the south of France, although I haven't been there in the last 3-4 years. It's (or at least, it was, and I doubt it's changed much) a very clean and well looked after place. The apartments and villas are all well designed and the common areas are planted, watered and kept spick and span.

The place was 100% naturist during the day (weather permitting) and it's important it stays that way - it's a naturist development, after all. There's absolutely nothing unhygienic about shopping in the nude. If you really have to wipe your bum with a baguette just make sure you buy it and eat it. :) In the evenings, most people dressed, even when it was really warm. That was a shame, I thought, but at least it was naturist during the day.

The downside of the place for me was the very coarse sand on the beach - not at all comfortable.
