I don't think it's particularly overpriced.  Magnolias Natura in Gran Canaria charges similar rates and their occupancy level is high.

Naturist places are always too expensive and makes us go elsewhere . More reasonable prices and we would visit this and Magnolia . We would also go to other places in the world that are naturist but they are also quite alot more expensive , is it because the large proportion of Naturists are Wealthy/Rich/Well off/ ?

Almost bound to be more expensive - naturist places are.  We go to Vera Playa a couple of times a year, and apartment rentals there are always more than at non-naturist beaches.

I agree with Magoo to some extent - naturist is bound to be a little more expensive than a mass-market textile place. However, I have to say that after (far too) many years of experience of both, equivalent quality is hard to come by in textile places. I've stayed in 'normal' 5-star hotels that have been terribly plush; but full of guests stealing, spoiling and damaging what's on offer in a totally selfish way.

In naturist accommodation, you're more likely to find guests doing minor repairs and cleaning than damaging or dirtying the place; and that applies equally to the private and public areas. The facilities may be old and rather worn, but they'll never (normally) be vandalised. It's really rare for anyone to play a radio above whisper level, or to kick a football close to others. There's also a much higher level of trust between guests, and between management and guests - even to the extent of shops where you just keep a record of what you've taken and pay at the end of the holiday. I'm sure there are exceptions, but that's the 'norm', and that's what you get at both Magnolias Natura in GC and Infiniti here in Corralejo (I've stayed in both) and it's really not what I've experienced in textile accommodation, whatever its star rating and luxury.

As far as I'm concerned, that difference is something money simply can't buy. Of course, taking their clothes off doesn't change someone's character , but true naturists do tend to see the world a little differently from the average non-naturist, and they generally have more self-respect, respect for others and for the environment.

BTW: Please note the liberal sprinkling of 'generally', 'normally' etc: if you're a non-naturist who can identify with all the above, maybe you're a naturist underneath your clothes who has yet to, or maybe never will, "come out".

In my view the competition is other hotels near by. It may be priced reasonably for right on the water front, but I do know of reasonably well maintained hotels which are half price and less than a minute away. I am willing to spend a bit more for the freedom of nudity, but I would rather spend money on good food and fine wine. 

In the USA, naturist resorts rarely charge more. For example, Palm Springs in California has a number of nudist hotels / "resorts", and they are all comparably priced to similarly appointed textile hotels.  Maybe German nudists are simply wealthier?

Well  at least I do not need many fancy cloths in Fuerteventura being naked most of the time on Corry beach is my idea of heaven.

One trip to Fuerteventura occurred in January. Since I pack like you, and it was quite warm on the rock, I used only a book sized backpack for all my "stuff".  Upon returning to the US, the customs people were very suspicious about my lack of luggage. It was not one of my smoother experiences coming back into the country.

  Well SoCal you should be smooth all over to match your tan, great place Fuerteventura for naked holiday. We pack two cases but most of the cloths are the wife's dressing up for dinner and drinks cloths.
The girls always make the effort to dress up in the evenings the shorter the skirts and see through tops the better. The girls do look so good with a nice tan and sexy cloths.    Cheers Sunpics

Who is to say I'm not?    Wife is and expects me to be the same way. Fortunately for me, there is little effort to be in such a state.  At nudist resorts in the US, most folks are smooth.  Or did I misinterpret your comment?

It is a personal thing smooth or not, my  wife and I preference is to shave it all off all the time not just on naked holidays our feeling is it looks and feels much  better.  I am very hairy by nature except my head which as all gone west as they say. I shave every day chest ,legs and all pubic area much easier than leaving it for days and my skin is so smooth  Cheers Sunpics

Looking to book our 2014 trip. We stay at a naturist self catering place in the South of the island. Looking at the prices, we will not see much change out of €900 for 14 nights for the accommodation.

Just as a matter of interest, has anyone got a ball park figure for similar textile SC accommodation of Fuerty? We are looking at a well kept, if basic one bedroom apartment. Pool & sauna with beach access be it a cardiac climb up the cliff footpath.

Is that Monte Marina?  Do you like it?  We looked at it as a possibility, but it's quite a walk to the beach, and the beach isn't particularly nice there.

The new Gran Hotel Natura is probably a similar price, but it's in Corralejo...

We quite like the place Tiger. We usually head South along the beach to a spot near the Robinson. There are sunbeds which the naturists have commandeered, but there is a textile mix as well. Its a nice spot for swimming with easy sea access. In February, the beach had taken a pounding & was not very nice, but reports are that it is getting back to normal.

The Monte Marina is a nice quiet SC complex which offers shelter on days when it is too windy for the beach. It is German owned & attracts a mix of German, Dutch, Nordic & some Brits. The rooms are functional & clean & have direct access to the pool area.

If you fancy something other than SC, the Fuerteventura Princess has a good naturist area & a better beach access.

We saw the Princess naturist area from the road down to the beach, must say it didn't look special, and my wife was concerned at the overall size of both the Princess and the Magic Life - too much walking about involved.

We've stayed at Magnolias Natura in GC, and that has a nice little bar/bistro next to the pool, so you can be naked all day.

But our last Fuerte trip was to the VIK Suite Hotel in Costa Calma.  That has excellent rooms, each with a completely private courtyard with sunloungers.  We found this was a real suntrap, as well as being sheltered from the wind.  Downside was having to dress for the pool, although many days we took the car to the Sotavento naturist beaches.

I can't remember ever seeing any textiles on the foreshore in front of the Gran Natura - even in its previous incarnation.
I'll have a look next week, though.

Tiger79, the road to the beach at the side of the FP naturist area drops away at that point and you can only really see the outside edge of the naturist area. Behind the sunbeds is a large high hedge and behind that is the official naturist area. It has maybe 30/40 sunbeds and a small pool, 2 large naturist saunas, a steamroom and several showers. Adjacent (but not naturist) to this are toilets, a gym, and a small spa for massages and treatments. There is no bar in the naturist area. The main pool bar is not far but does require covering up.
We have stayed there several times now, and found the naturist area is often the busiest part of the hotel grounds, with the sunbeds frequently all taken whilst the larger textile pools were very quiet.
As Magoo says, access to the beach is easy (not so steep or long as the Magic Life), and not far along the beach to the spot he describes in front of the Robinson. And the beach was fully recovered when we were there in May.
Your wife is correct though, the FP is a large site, with the rooms spread out in low rise blocks some of which are quite a distance from the main restaurants and bars. And the pool areas are all at a much lower level than the main block so there can be a bit of an incline to contend with as well.

We are staying there in March and are planning on being Au Natural when we join the beach from the rear of the hotel. We will let you know how many copies of the sun we see being torn up.
