Ah yes, those palm trees. You would think, wouldn`t you, that the idea was good but experience and time have demonstrated that the result was not good. There is sufficient evidence that the earlier trees have grown to be a pavement destroying liability. So what do they do? Why carry right on planting more. Even if the paving stones were unaffected by the roots there is still the problem of the branches spreading out to block the free passage of pedestrians, forcing them onto the roads and cyclepaths. I Suggest anyone walking up the avenues get issued with a machete each.
