Just been down to the phone shop by the petrol station in Corralejo for a SIM card for ipad. Nearly fainted when the chap said 15euros for the card and 75euros for 1 months Internet. Surely that can't be correct ?????

The whole thing's a minefield, and charges vary massively.  Depends what you want to do on the iPad, but if it's mainly email, forums, etc, you could manage with a cheaper option.  I got an Orange Mundo sim, which is a pay-as-you-go, no contract, and unlimited (slow) internet is 1 euro a day.  The credit lasts 12 months.

Down in Caleta the Internet is now all cable with free upgrades on iPads and tablets. Corey needs to get their finger out and get into the 21st century ::)

Caleta might have all that new technology but you still have to pay for it. I'll stick to Corrie thanks.

appy ammer I have some very tight fisted "friends"who stay in Caleta because they have a free bus to Rosario and one to the atlantico Centre to do their shopping They also go into the, big hotels at night for free entertainment and sit there with 1 drink all night!!!

I have the orange sim for my ipad, and just top it up when I come on holiday. It cost me € 35 to top up this visit. It will last a month, though I only need it for 2 weeks. Well pleased, because a newspaper per day would cost us €28, not to mention additional roaming charges for our phones. ( which we no longer use on holiday, because FB is miles better).

I top up at the orange shop in Atlantico. All I need to find out now, is if I can top up my card BEFORE my holiday.
