Get the XBMC player (free)
http://xbmc.org/download/
And then get the MiPlayer addon
http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/official-xbmc-hub-repo/5749-%5Brelease%5D-myiplayer-eu.html
no ads straight onto the channels, works really well but its a bit fiddly setting up, see admins post "no more UK TV sort of".

Globetrotter is right but if you don't want to go the Xbmc route, use Firefox with the Adblock Plus extension.
Just tested on a mac,,,,, It removes some of the ads but the ads within the 'player' are still there but blank (blue) and the little Xs are easier to see.
Otherwise it's down to clicking the little Xs when they appear.

(Adblock Plus will definitely help remove all the troublesome header ads if you use Expat Shield  for BBC iPlayer, ITV etc.)

That's true with the qualification that you can only watch the channels that the family member has subscribed to. i.e. if they aren't paying for Sky Sports you can't use that method to watch them.

The ads wouldnt be so bad if there wasnt so many of them or the little red cross was bigger.
The XBMC player is brilliant, been beta testing it all week since Admin told me about it, reliable and customisable.

Use UKTV for €270 per year when there so not tight really, just looking at alternatives.

Thanks Potash,

We have Sky in the UK and currently using Slinbox HD, this is ok in itself but by the time its streamed to my laptop and then to the Smart TV the picture definition is no so good.

The pay VPN's I have seen appear not to include SKY programmes, or have I lost the plot?

Do you install the VPN on the PC in the UK as the host :-[?

free no adverts

Just a warning on this, if it asks you to download the flashplayer on screen, DON'T!!!

Just wait a minute and then click on the full screen button and the adds will go away.

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

There's a small red square with a white cross in it. Click that to get rid of the advert.
