I am going to Fuerteventura for 6 weeks soon and (I know its sad) but I dont want to miss Corrie.  I have my own computer.  I understand I wont be able to get ITV Player on internet out there.  But I have heard there are other ways.  How do I go about this?

Download expatshield (google its free if you take the advert supported version) Then see if you are near an internet hotspot such as canarynet or cheapnet (which are local wireless services which will cost you 20 euros a month for canarynet (more if you buy online) cheapnet are cheaper online (you can only buy online for cheapnet). If you use expat shield you can watch itv player or BBC iplayer. The connection on the local wifi services are not really designed for downloading large amounts of bandwidth but they do work for me at times. However its better if you can download a programme on BBC player and watch when you want. However this is not possible with ITV player. I have not been able to get round the security of 5 on demand or 4OD.

If you go to a bar or cafe which has wifi and buy a drink or 2 you could watch ITV player with expatshield  (use headphones) on your computer, but you might be better just finding a bar with it on tv and ask owner if you can watch it.

Several places in Corralejo where it's on. I've been out of the UK for 20 years and only just moved to this 'outpost' so I'm well and truly weaned off British TV, but we go down for fish & chips sometimes to a place that screens all of them. Amazes me to see they're still running - I had no idea -  but they do get a hold of you! :o

My wife likes to watch all the British soaps. Once you decide on an internet provider. Just google FilmOn and download and watch as much British t.v as you want. Join your computer to the t.v with an HDMI lead. SD is totally free of charge, to get HD you have to pay. Can be tempremental sometimes, but what do you expect for free.

Watching via Expatshield yields better quality than Filmon.

Youtube's 4od channel is easier to get than the normal 4od if you are using expatshield.

ditto for 5 ondemand:

Using Firefox with Adblock Plus will remove all of Expatshield's banners.

The link below has been reported as "a dodgy website".
I'm awaiting justification for that.
In the meantime, use the link AT YOUR OWN RISK"

I noticed that the Expat Shield are now charging to watch the BBC through it, bit cheeky seeing as they put ads on there too. I'm connected to Laptop Telly now, all the UK channels seem to work fine and without the buffering now. download is http://www.laptoptelly.com
