Internet help needed!!

We are moving to a different apartment at the end of next week and it already has Canary Net internet service but im not too sure how reliable that is and whether it works alongside the xbox. I was looking at getting regular adsl internet through Movistar, does anyone know if they do 6 month contracts and whether an Nie is needed to get it?
