Eric is leaving "IMAGINE"

Sorry if this is old news...
but I hear that Eric's last night in Imagine is 11th May []
but he can be found at the brisamar complex after that date. []

We heard a rumour when we were out there in April. We always popped into Imagine when we were on holiday.

Does anyone know why he is moving, high rents?[?]

I cant believe the Brisamar will let him perform like he does in Imagine. []

If anyone knows anymore, please post!!

He told me one night that neighbours were complaining about noise. Maybe that is the reason?

Fi always had complaints about noise.

Is it that Imagine is moving to new location and not that Eric is leaving.   As far as I know Eric has a share in the Imagine business but that it is mainly funded by Gell from Liverpool.

One night we were there and standing outside after the show talking with Eric, as he had a cigarette.   When the place was descended on by 4 police/garda vehicles but of course Imagine was all quiet and they went up the street looking for any other noise.  A close call!!

Hmmm the rozzers trying to cut down noise in a tourist resort. Seems to sit well with the other policies of hounding drivers and the prevention of free enterprise from renting property you actually own and paid for.I wonder how anyone manages to run a business or make a living on that island. It must be a real fight.

Yes it is true.
Eric is going to be playing at a bar in the Brisamar complex on the main drag.
I have had an email from Eric confirming this after 9 years at Imagine right from the start he is having to look after his and his daughters futures.   This has not been done without much heart searching.

He has sent me a 2 page leaflet explaining it all, however I am unable to post on here, due to my lack of pc skills.

Imagine will continue to run for the time being however without Eric on the stage and his instruments.

I will certainly be looking Eric out at his new venue.

I wish Gell and the staff remaining at Imagine well for the future.

Never thought about using photobucket to post them.   Eric only sent me the page 2 & 3 so I do not know what is on page one.   Although it seemed to be about his yacht which he lived on in Corry marina, have been entertained to a few beers and songs on it.  Eric and Claudia now have an apartment.

Folks as said this is direct from Eric no in-between person.

Yes M we have sunk quite a few there over the years, although I have matured from Rum and coke to Gin and Tonic[][]

Admin was there for part of his last night in Imagine featuring Eric and a host of other musicians he has performed with over the years.

I grabbed my Ruc-Sac earlier today, reached into a pocket and found an "Imagine" Fridge magnet that I collected on 20th April... at that time - I didnt know the news.[:0]

Such sad news, but can anyone tell us when Eric is starting at the Brisamar and what nights he will be playing?

End of an era. We had some great evenings in Imagine. One if them ended with just me, my other half and Eric left in the bar with a LOT  of jaigermeister until very early hours exchanging our very interesting Amsterdam experiences.  We still talk about it now. Quality evening with a quality guy. Can't wait to catch him at Brissamar.

Danny  - where did you get that picture, looks like I'm half inebriated....

Eric moved all his kit out of Imagine yesterday, so no doubt he will be getting it set up in Brisamar as this goes out. Don't know when he officially starts.

I was speaking to Gel this morning, now that All Eric's stuff is out, she is giving the place a bit of a face lift, and is hoping to get it open again fairly soon.

She is looking for suitable acts - so if you think you are good enough put an audition set on youtube and email a link to  gelped@hotmail.com

I hope that Imagine will survive without Eric - we'll see.

Really sorry for the lovely Imagine Bar (I hope it survives)  but I think that the location of the Brisamar is perfect and should attract a lot more people.  Wishing Eric all the best and will be looking him up in June. If Imagine keeps going it gives us another good music venue.
