Jet2 My personal thoughts

I have just returned from two weeks on the island and flew with Jet2, and my personal thoughts were as follows.

The booking in of the bags etc was the fastest ever experienced, with happy smiley operators.
The leg room was the best I have ever had on a charter flight and puts RA, TC and the rest to shame. I could actually get my legs stretched right out and under the seat in front with ease.
The flight attendants were very slick and professional.
On the return leg we were too early for the baggage to be put through or so I thought?  But no! they said not a problem and off up the belt they went, with no big lines of people to stand in awaiting them opening up to the second hand on their watch striking twelve. And again what a cheery talkative bunch of attendants.
when the flight was called, the line moved very quickly and again no waiting about till they were ready for us.
Oh and 22kgs of hold luggage each!
They made us feel like we were important, and thats how it should be. The rest need to take a look at how they do this and follow suit (IMHO).

What a breath of fresh air Jet2 was on this trip.
Just hope they can keep it up!

We came back from Majorca with them yesterday. first time we had flown with them as well.  Agree with all your sentiments, especially re: the flight attendants and the legroom.

Only thing was we were on an old wreck of a 28 year old 737-300, seats were so uncomfortable on it, there is no way I'd consider a 4 1/2 flight on one of these, 2 hours was bad enough, and we were left on it for an hour and a half on the way out due to some fault with one of the landing lights.

If they were to get some new planes, wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again.

Thanks Kenny
I'm booked for November, almost looking forward to the flight now.

Which company does Jet2 use at the Fuerteventura airport?

I assume that it is contracted out.

Your boarding pass might tell you.

Monarch use Clever - a highly innapropriate name if ever I saw one!!

Thanks Kenny, I have never flown with Jet 2 will look into them for my next flight  :-* :-*

The marshaling and meet and greet personnel were employees of Jet2 HB.
At least they had the uniform and badges of such. As for the actual check in lady, she was a servise air (I think that's how it is spelt?) employee. and was very quick.

Thanks, Kenny, for the info.  I'll check Monarch's ground handlers in November.

Mr Boo Boo

Agree re Jet 2, came back from Rome last Friday and first time I have used a "budget" airline, leg room superb, no reclining seats, food on board tasty, attentive crew etc etc (not something I could say about TC or TOM), the only negative was that the flight back was delayed for 3 hours due to a faulty wiper blade (but we were kept updated re progress)..... will use them again.

I think the baby went out with the bathwater here. Dunno if a post from "pullmepantsoff" is to be taken seriously but anyway, all I want on a four hour flight is a drink of tea or coffee. The rest of it, well, yes reclining seats are a continuing source of hatred on here, but if a flight is three hours delayed because the operator hasn`t got a spare wiper blade it wil not matter about tasty food and fawning cabin staff, three hours of your life gone due to the lack of a basic spare part. Whenever I change wiper blades I stick one of the old ones in the boot.
Mentor to the boneheads.

Mr Boo Boo

Had to wait for a replacement plane to fly from M/cr to Rome (yes all because of a wiper blade), we were told that we had to have a new pilot as well, as the original one could only fly 737's and the replacement plane was a 757 (not joking), nothing we could do apart from kill time at the airport... compo claim form submitted to Jet 2...

we got stuck at Manchester Airport once for 10 hours because of the wiper blade  ::)  then had a 9 hour flight to contend with....was great fun

Thanks Helen, so its not an uncommon problem  :o

HelenR

no lol apparently they had to fly one in from somewhere  ::) ::)

Mr Boo Boo

Guess we were lucky then with the 3 hr delay..... maybe TC and Tom aren't that bad then !!!

HelenR

Think it was Britannia at the time was a long time ago  ;D

Mr Boo Boo

Going back a few years there Helen.... at least with Jet 2 there is no need to buy knee defenders !

Mr Boo Boo

I remember flying with Dan Air and the air con leaked mid flight and we all got soaked, half the passengers looked like they had been in a wet tea shirt contest  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
