Bus timetable in The Voice magazine

We went to Caleta yesterday to pick up some new phones. We cut out the bus timetable from The Voice magazine and took it with us. The timetable has the last bus from Caleta to Rosario down as 21:30 and the last bus from Rosario to Corralejo as 00:00.

We were enjoying a nice meal in O Fado and the waitress told us that there were buses from Caleta to Rosario after 21:30. We went to The Step Inn for a drink and the fella behind the bar kindly phoned his Mrs and gave us the times of the buses after 21:30.

Thinking we would make the 00:00 from Rosario to Corralejo, we decided to get the 23:15 bus from Caleta. We found out from the driver that there is also no 00:00 from Rosario to Corralejo and the last one is 23:00. We ended up having to pay 37€ in taxi back to Corralejo. As you can well imagine, we weren't best please to say the least.

I'm not having a pop at The Voice magazine as it's usually quite an enjoyable and informative read. However, this is just a 'heads up', to prevent this happening to anyone else. I suggest people go by the times on the Tiadhe website - http://www.maxoratabus.com/tiadhe/en/rutas.htm

If The Voice require a proof reader, my services are available.  :)

That made it an expensive night out for you Carlo and must have been a horrible way to end your evening. Hopefully people will read your post and not be caught in the same situation.  Also I think The Voice should be made aware and rectify their mag.

Yeah, it did put a damper on things. We had to go to Caleta to replace our phones that had been stolen, so we thought we'd try and make a day of it. Then to get hit with a 37€ taxi fare, it's just more added expense that we can do without at the moment.

You're right Gill, The Voice should be made aware. Hopefully one of them reads the forum.

No doubt the voice has an email address or telephone number somebody on the island can use.

I have been told this morning that the bus service has been reduced - maybe the timetables have still not been updated?

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh here.......

As the original poster had the rest of the magazine, with contact details on, Wht didn't they also copy and paste their posting onto an email to The Voice?
People often don't know they're wrong until they get told. It would have done the publisher a favour.

Perhaps they did not have internet or telephone access on the island and didn't take their copy of The Voice home with them.

I do actually live here in Corralejo, I just don't have the rest of the magazine to hand.

I thought I was doing a good turn for others by trying to prevent this happening to someone else and presumed, maybe wrongly, that someone from The Voice would more than likely read this forum. I don't have the rest of the magazine to hand but I've found their website and will inform them of this thread, post haste, via the contact details on their website.

Carlo

I've just sent them a message via their website.

Carlo

Just noticed that the same erroneous bus times are printed in the What's On magazine too.

Taking Carlo's hint I have similarly emailed What's On via their web site.
