Twinkle Trust Animal Aid

TRAP, NEUTER AND RELEASE CAMPAIGN – DECEMBER 2012

Thanks to a grant and the donations from members of Twinkle Trust Animal Aid and the general public the charity carried out a highly successful Trap Neuter & Release campaign at the beginning of December. Through the dedicated work of the Twinkle volunteer vets, nurses, catchers and helper's, many travelling especially from the UK, the Twinkle Trust Animal Aid center admitted 352 cats during the week of Dec 1st-8th. The following is the result of this campaign:
Spayed: 179 females
Castrated: 152 males.
The remaining cats were already sterilised and came in for treatment only. We successfully treated 3 hernias, removed 1 damaged eye, performed 1 leg amputation to allow a cat to be re-homed, repaired 1 rectal prolapse and 6 ear re-sections due to skin cancer. Sadly we had to put 5 of the 352 cats to sleep as they were terminally ill.
These campaigns are very expensive and we are now very low on funds. To ensure we will have enough money to carry out another large scale Campaign in 2014 please give Twinkle Trust a donation, no matter how small. Our bank account details follow.

The main purpose of The Twinkle Trusts Animal Aid charity is to promote the Trap, Neuter and Release policy as an on-going humane method of controlling the cat population here in Fuerteventura. In the long term this provides a controlled, positive and healthy life for the feral cat population. 18 years of Twinkle Trust continuing it's Trap, Neuter and Release policy has proven this the case.
When funds and volunteers are available we will never turn a sick feral cat away. We help the most urgent / needy cases all year round. Please Help!
