Looks impressive, could have done with that 10 years ago.

Sounds really exciting - we talked about it the day after Reni Egli got the planning permission. Their Marketing Director - Annika featured on Spike ON Q on Canary UK radio. You can keep up to date with the latest Island news every Friday between 6pm and 8pm at www.canaryuk.com
This development makes Sotovento the World Centre for professional wind surfers and kite boarder - great news.
Annika is on Spike ON Q most weeks, when she has time to chat and keeps us up to date with windsurfing news from Rene Egli and weather forecasts for water sports enthusiasts

Lots of wind but off shore
For flat water lovers

Spike On Q

The reason Sotovento is such a wind surfing mecca is due to the land formation leading onto the beach. The prevailing north easterly wind roars down the west coast of the island, along the west coastal mountain range and hits the valley just south of Costa Calma [where the wind generators are, for good reason] The wind funnels through this valley and can be amplified by up to one third - and it is constant. It hits the beach and the sea locally at the amplified speed and is normally therefore OFF SHORE. Wind speeds during the windy months reach a constant 30 to 35 knots [over 40 mph]

You can see current conditions on a "Live" webcam at www.rene-egli.com
