Aena has announced that it has abolished the first half hour's free parking in all Canarian airports. The measure came into force on 1 October.  From now on, a stay of even a few minutes will be charged.

They need the extra money to pay Mr O'Leary   :D

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

Just like Birmingham then. :(

Does that include the little slip road in front of the Departures where you could drop off a passenger and move on within five or ten minutes?

Even if you have to pay from minute 1 it's still very cheap in comparison to Dublin Airport, and I suspect, many of the airports in the UK

I believe you can still drop off outside departures, and stay ten minutes without a problem. I used the car park yesterday, and was only charged 20 cents. I guess this is the cost , for what was free in the past. So its still really cheap.

Just looked on the airport site and here are their rates.   Works out about 50c for an hour although the day rate looks to have an error.   Think should read per day!!!
