 Liza the Sea Lion gave birth to a beautiful baby boy measuring 60 inches and weighing 12 kilos in a specially prepared bedroom in Oasis Park Zoo. It was a natural delivery and mother and baby are doing well.

The reproductive cycle of sea lions is special, because, two weeks after giving birth, the mother goes into heat and mates. The resulting embryo is not implanted in the uterus, but is reserved for later inorder to allow the Mother to devote all her attention to weaning her baby. In a years time we can all look forward to another new baby on the way announcement from Liza the Sea Lion.

Well now....I have nothing much to do and am studying the mating rituals of Sea Lions....as you do at times like these.

If I was a Sea Lion only the blubberiest male with a nice calm nature  would have a chance of mating with me.

Males need to stay on the beach for as long as possible, sometimes around 27 days inorder to stand a chance of catching one of the "ladies" for a little mating session and so they have to starve themselves literally for the chance of a bit of lurve. They get very frustrated and angry and often have head butting  and staring sessions with the other males.

The "Ladies" meanwhile sit around in large groups chatting away to themselves and sometimes mounting each other, presumably adding further distress and frustration to their shrinking potential suitors. Males that are too aggressive or energetic are usually not in with a chance at all and so the "lurving" is left to presumably the slightest and most mild mannered few.

Fascinating. Fair play to the ones who succeed. They deserve their prize at the end of all that.

Well.... I am currently studying the different body forms and to be honest the Californians are coming up trumps. They have sleeker bodies and nice nails and in my opinion are much better looking than the Africans



I am sure Emmi that you will agree that it is important for males to be well groomed and have nice nails.

I am shocked to read that there are submissive and dominant males. Can they read too? Have they read 50 shades of Grey? I guess it takes all types to make a world even in the animal kingdom. I must do more research on that in a moment. The antics of these beasts make some of the posts on the Naturist section seem tame Can the Man.
