After learning so much recently about the mating habits of sea lions. I decided to do some research on the Turtles too....

When breeding Turtles it is important to get the ratio of males to females right. Males have fantastic stamina and are very demanding and exhaust the "ladies" with their demands for "love". The act of "love" can last for two hours. (yes I did say two hours gentlemen) Males shove and head butt each other inorder to get the lady of their hearts desire.

The male rushes over to the "lady" of his dreams full of passion but unfortunately if she is near her food dish she just carries on eating and pays no attention to him at all. What a shame after all that head butting and shoving.
