Appy made a good point in the Wifi thread, but moved it here so I don't get battered by admin  :o

The circles I can only assume were planned roads for building new complexes etc

Can anyone confirm this or know what these are?

The roads kind of exist if you take a walk around the moon rock, but are not really visible unless your looking for them, and as I said in the other thread, these roads have names also as you can see above..

I've always thought that something was planned for the area to the west of Nuevo Horizonte, but have never seen anything in print before.

On the area to the left of the FV-2 , where there are some existing houses (where the jet ski advert is), there are roads laid out with kerb stones.

Perhaps they planned to develop the area, but then decided to expand Caleta.

All very interesting and puzzling!

When I first moved here I lived in Nuevo for a bit and got to know the old caretaker(Claudio) of the complex I stayed in. Although I didn't speak Spanish and him no english we managed to communicate with each other, in a way most  of you will have had to. He told me that Nuevo was a big con and him and a few others were paid to put roads in and even build buildings to no plans( you can still see some of them now) for the benefit of investors the land owner was trying to sell to. He even said they had a model in the office that showed some of the cliffs were going to be blasted away and a beach made.
How true it was I don't know but it seems to make sense, and seeing some of the other scams that have happened here in the past it's not unfeasible.
Also as you drive into Nuevo all the land to the left was a massive landfill site.

When we first came to Caleta in 2001 we were looking to buy a property. We were shown plans etc and told that Nuevo and Caleta would be joined together and be one large resort. Glad that never happened, I like the different personalities of the both places.

One day the whole of the coast between NH and Las Salinas will be developed - it's just a matter of time

canarysid

Yep
Approximately another 150 years I reckon

glenys

Not in lifetime I hope. One good thing about the recession is Las Salinas Golf didn't develop the land between Caleta and Las Salinas village. ;D

lets hope the recession lasts long enough to get rid off all the crooked business people, a lot are already gone, still a few to go yet  >:(
