Travelling to Cofete Beach

Hi folks.

I wonder if anyone has some first hand knowledge, that they can help me with?

We travelled to Fuerteventura for the first time last February, fell in love with the place and have booked to return in September.

Cofete Beach looks spectacular - and with a keen interest in history, I also really want to visit Casa Winter.

I've booked a Jeep this time around, that is covered for off-track roads. However, 'she who must be obeyed' is hesitant about the mountain road, down to Cofete. I've tried to convince her that speeded-up clips on Youtube aren't exactly giving the right perspective. Moreover, having driven (for work-related purposes) a motorhome across Argentina and through the much higher Andes mountain range, the Cofete road looks relatively safe to navigate, obviously with due care. However, I clearly do not want to pressurise her into something that could cause her undue anxiety or stress - she gets enough of that as a nurse!

To this end, I have read about a bus service from Morro Jable. However, if reports on the internet are to be believed (is anything?), then it would appear that the service is quite infrequent - but more importantly, often gets completely full up, very quickly.

Can any forum members please confirm whether this is true - as clearly, it's pointless waiting to then not be able to get a seat.

Are there any other alternatives available?

Many thanks, in advance, for any advice that anyone can provide.

If your Jeep has got insurance cover for off-road then you'll be fine. It is a fairly rough route from Morro Jable to Cofete but it's OK.

The timetable for the Cofete bus is here: https://tiadhe.com/en/line-111/
