Just to warn everyone with a rental property in Caleta de Fuste or Corralejo!

WARNING!!!!!

There is a gang of Moroccans who are illegally occupying rental or empty properties in Caleta de Fuste and making it theirs. Our property was occupied on Thursday and we informed the police straight away, went to court - NOTHING! The police are useless when it comes to property being illegally occupied. The occupiers even broke down a security gate and a front door - still the police won't act.

We have now found the same gang have now occupied our neighbour's property which was also an empty rental

They are a real nasty bunch so if you have empty property make sure it is VERY well secured or that your friends are checking it daily.

PLEASE TAKE THIS WARNING SERIOUSLY

Hi, quite an old post now but any further updates on this problem, it's very unsettlimg to anyone wanting to invest for retirement as there'll always be extended periods when the property will be empty.

Hi very sorry to read of your problem with okkupa. My son had the same problem in puerto del rosario. Luckily they left the property after 3 month without any damage and only with the help of my lawyer. Anyway there is a new law that if the okkupa can't prove the right to stay in the property, they have to leave in a week.
