Can anyone reccommend a qualified TV engineer, Caleta area please? Have lost Netflix, despite the fact that it still works on my laptop. Something to do with DNS settings but Netflix themselves not very helpful! T.I.A.

If it the DNS then I doubt a TV engineer would be much good. Have you got onto the help desk of your VPN/DNS supplier ??

A little more information would help.

Is your internet connected using a router what router? Is it a smart TV what make?

Changing the DNS setting is fairly straight forward and if you google the information asking how to change the settings.

Lots of alternative DNS settings to try out here

Thanks for the replies. I have a Movistar router and Phillips smart TV (2 yrs old). Movistar tell me the signal into the house is fine and I have good line speed, so they won't send anyone! Will have a go at changing the DNS. Does it change it on the TV or on the router pls?

Best to change it on the router & then it covers everything IMO

Thanks Spitfire, will give it a go!

Spitfire is right normally to change it on the router but I would change it on the TV first. If you change the router it may affect your connection to your laptop which you are having no problems with. Also I have tried to get into the basic router of a movistar router before to change the security settings and it would not allow me to do so.

If you are having no problems on the laptop then my thoughts are that changing the DNS on the TV might be required as that's where you are having the problems from what you say. So the configuration of the TV`s DNS might help out.

Don`t know your router name but here is something that might help

Good luck let us know how you get on.

Thanks again for all the positive replies. Netflix "chatted" online for an hour before deciding it was the DNS and could only be resolved by my internet provider. Enter Stan, my 11 year old grandson. Deleted Netflix from the laptop, reloaded it onto the TV and hey presto, it works! You'd think their team of techies may just have encountered suchh a problem before? Apparently not.
