Anyone know whether Maxidex steroid eye drops are available OTC?

It's worth visiting a pharmacy, preferably with a bottle/tube of your drops (if you have them with you).  I have often found that you can get prescription only meds without a prescription if it appears obvious that you use the medication.

Now I can't guarantee that it will work, but it has worked for me in the past. Sometimes I have failed but the us always another pharmacy around the corner!!!  Use a local corner shop type rather than an enormous one on a main street.

Good luck.

In general all antibiotics and opium based medication are only on prescription. Since a few years they are very strict about this.
General medication is mostly OTC tho this can differ between pharmacies.
We always found the big pharmacy on the main road in Corralejo (opposite Hoplaco) to be very accomadating.
(the new pharmacy near Clinica Brisa Mar  is on our "no go list", expensive, unfriendly and everything by the book)
