Mike & Dave were employed at Manchester Airport for a few years and were employed in the refuelling area.
It was a mundane ,and some could say boring job but they had certain responsibilities which included coming in to work sober.
They were diligent in this aspect of their job but still had a healthy appetite for the odd pint.
On a late shift on a Friday night during a baggage handler's strike they were kicking their heels and wondering how to pass the time:-

" I could murder a pint"
" Yep me too, how long left in this blasted shift"
" Do you realise that aviation fuel is alcohol based?
" Gerraway"
" It is, shall we try a bit"
" Go on then"

After a sip which was well received, further sips were followed by the odd half pint and the shift passed quite amicably.

The following morning Mick woke up with a blinding headache to the sound of his phone ringing.

"Hi Mick its Dave, how are you this morning?"
" Apart from a stinking headache I seem OK"
" Whatever you do, don't fart."
" Why is that?
" I am ringing from New York"
