No doubt you are right John. All wrong really. In your own home it should be "any force necessary". You can be damn sure anyone ever breaks into my homes when I am there & if I get the chance they won't walk out again !!

That's all very fine but your half asleep and those scumbags are on an adrenalin high and maybe other stuff as well, I think its better to sleep through the episode and be able to report it when you waken up.

I wholeheartedly agree that you should be able to defend yourself and your property but Dagwood makes very sensible points. Hearts ruling heads. I think concentrating on the physical external security is a must, the more obstacles in the way the more chance of them going elsewhere.

Can your phone not be blocked completely by your network and made useless. Also keep an eye on drop box etc. A friend had their phone stolen and the stupid clown that stole it was taking selfies and they automatically went into my friends dropbox or whatever they used.

Within 3 hours I had been on to BT Mobile they blocked the sim and online through my Samsung account I blocked the phone.

A lot of people assume that when a mobile is blocked it cannot be used again.
Blocking involves marking the mobile phones unique IMEI number as bad so when any other sim is put in it will not work so rendering it useless, but...........
There is software out there (highly illegal) that can input a new IMEI number, you just need to find say a 'friendly' mobile repairman, take along an old mobile (any will do) that you wil no longer use again, the IMEI number which is valid is copied off this phone and written onto the blocked phone overwriting the bad number, result a fully functioning mobile again taking any carrier.

I thinks the thieves had someone lined up for my phone, using google tracking I can see my phone walked from the villa then driven up to PDR to a café then it stops transmitting. Given the Guarda Civil the info so lets see what will now happen.
