Thomas Cook are only letting me print off our boarding passes 24 hrs max before the flight.  I'm sure it used to be like two weeks or so.

Do you think it's another fly ploy to have folk forget or unable to print in time so they can charge you silly money to process this at the airport.

Hope I remember lol

Do they not have an app like Ryanair ??

I think if you buy seats you will be allowed to print your boarding cards over 2 weeks before flight. Another scam to sell you seat allocation and spend more money :'(

Mr Boo Boo

Recently flew out to Fuerto with TC we bought seats in advance and still got advised that we could only print the boarding cards 24 before the flight, didn't really bother us as we just checked in at the airport, flew back with Monarch and printed our boarding cards 3 weeks before flying back....

Recently flown with TC to Thassos, didn,t  pay for seats but was able to check in online exactly 24 hours before before each flight, was given allocated seats next to each other and was able to both print off boarding cards and save to phone, which you just scanned the screen as you passed through security.

When you book a flight with a British company, "expect" to be ripped-off. It's normal practice in the UK.

The Government should be looking into the way these websites are laid out, they're "designed" in a way in order to try and trip you up from start to finish.

Did they charge you for printing/issuing your boarding passes at the airport?

I flew with them in March and I did check-in on my iphone 5 hours before the flight. I bought the ticket 7days before but did check-in just before I left my house. I was glad I did too because there was a horrendous queue snaking around the airport for the 2 check-in desks they had open in Fuerteventura airport.

It's not that strange really, all airlines are finding competition and the marketplace difficult and they are constantly changing things to try and get more money out of the "extras".

In the past you always had to queue and get your boarding passes in the airport, then they introduced online check-in which you could use up until 24 hours before the flight, which saved them money as they needed less staff for check-in.

Then they decided to charge for selecting your seat online from around a month in advance, which earned them profit from what was already an essential part of their service, while still allowing you to choose free of charge from around 7days before.

Following this big earner, they then created an incentive to pay for seat selection by making any other option virtually a random allocation, this should never have been allowed.

What is left to do to make people pay for seat selection? Now they start to reduce the time frames when you get access to the "Free" seat selection service.

This may be tested in a court some day, but it's not surprising. I suppose they are going to now make a fortune from people too scared not to select like 30 days in advance and the other half of their customers who end up unable to check-in in the last 24 hours and get charged a check-in fee when they arrive at the airport; it essentially amounts to selling you a ticket in advance and they charging you £££'s to print the ticket when you arrive at the airport. It's like a really extreme version of the now illegal money spinner of charging 3.5% card charges for what is really a 30p transaction cost.

I am still thankful we don't have to pay to use the toilet............  ;)

Very true. They are all going the same way. Probably perfectly legal but undoubtedly underhand & devious. Pity there is no way really of opposing these companies, unfortunately it's rather a long swim, lol.

You don't need Thomas Cook to get you to Cleethorpes  ;)

I don,t see the problem i didn,t pay for seating but checked in online 24 hours before both out going and in coming flights and so did the couple we holidayed with. Both couples were seated together just a row or two apart. Also we travelled to Manchester the day before on the train and went up in the lift to Thomas cook bag drop and got rid of our cases before going to our pre flight hotel. And i travelled from Cleethorpes.
