Dont know how they could dismiss it as they never saw it and there where no photos taken as the T/V company could not get my permission to do so, and i dont know who Johnny Irwin is but i have a friend in the town who had exactly the same experience, 10 mins in the house viewing and one to one and a half hours by film crew, it would be interesting to here from other owners how long they had spent by the viewings, i notice you say buyers but no one buys its just a free holiday, i also think if this Johnny Irwin and the other people is someone you know then it is time they got there facts right and stop telling potential buyers a pack of lies, rant over

Ivemovedon

Johnny Irwin is a presenter of A Place In The Sun.

Don't understand malabu.  You say prospective buyers spent no more than 10/15 mins in the property.  You then go on to say they never saw it?  Apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

Just guessing but maybe they view 10/12.  Then filter it down to 5?  Filming something like that when its a live market could mean they would need back ups.  Also people on the show tend to like 2 or 3.   Wouldn't be much of a show if they hated everything they are shown.

malabu

i had a call from someone on the program a few weeks before filming, they turn up spend an hour or so giving advice on the best way to show the property, then sometime latter the prospective buyers turns up to view, so this comment does not make any sense

Well that's what Johnny Irwin told me so maybe your property had been dismissed by the buyers before they'd seen it,
so you see it is not possible for them to dismiss it with out viewing it, what i meant to say was they never saw it before hand, and no photos where taken,

Sorry i should have said it was a local estate agent that contacted me after the program got in touch  with them, and they in turn contacted me for permission.

Could be anyone of the 4 blond (light hair) ladys and i dont recognize any of the men, but it has been about five or six years, would not recommend having them in your home, within a week of the program we took it off the market, we where at the time looking at a larger property, still here  and still loving it.   8) 8)

Banjo

The background work is done weeks before by researchers.  The presenters don't get involved in that, they just turn up for the 5 days of filming and take the glory.

charlatanefc

Hardly worth watching anymore.  Used to watch it to see how few clothes Jasmine was wearing on any given day  ;)

I dont know who they do the background work with certainly not the owners we never saw or spoke to anyone, only the guy from the estate agents and that was only 2 times for a couple of minutes, as i say i dont know where you get your information from but not correct.

Banjo

Lol, I got my information from Johnny Irwin and Amanda Lamb. If you don't know who either of them are then let's just say that my info came from the horse's mouth and leave it at that.

Drop names all you like but still wrong, and sounds like it came from the wrong end of the horse, try asking the jockey not the horse, and i am not trying to be distressful just honest.

Banjo

I think you're just upset that you're place didn't reach first base.

I will watch it, definitely the best comedy, and soap, on the T/V at the moment, the only thing it does is show people how beautiful our Island is, so grateful for that. 8) 8) 8)

Parque Holandes beach front? now tell me they are not taking the urine, rundown in the middle of nowhere, no bar, no supermarket, no shops NO P,OOLS, no people, sounds just the right place to buy,  >:( >:(

Ivemovedon

I didn't know parquet Hollandes had a beach. At least I didn't when I last looked about 15 years ago. Nice place to be if you are of a nervous disposition or just waiting to die..or it was then
. If it's any better now my apologies for such a negative review of the place. Would not recommend to anyone under the age of 95. Sorry.

We were taken to lok at a property there 2 years+ ago, we drove on to it and I said to the agent do not bother to stop, we will not be getting out of the car, absolutely awful place!

Ivemovedon

You never did a better thing in your life. Imagine what is was like 15 years ago. We looked at a place that was then called horseshoe bay on the front. Drive past it sometimes and are thankful we keep driving.

Corralejo bus to Rossario stops there, seems very isolated and I did wonder why they decided to build such a community as n that location. Didn't think show did fuerteventura justice, but it's entertainment I suppose 😎

I read a book some years ago Mal, where the author suggested it was one of the first developments of its kind on The Island, and is named what it is as the guy who was responsible for the development was Dutch.

I'd love to see the out-takes, apparently there are some very heated scenes that don't make it past the cutting room floor. A few couples  go home no longer on speaking terms. The only time there's a frost in Fuerte is when APITS team are around.

'Four in a Bed' is still better for comedy value though.

Quite a few on here would agree with you nothing but a joke, it the bending and distortion of the truth by the presenters, that really does annoy me, please dont say they only pass on what they are told because as you say they research it for weeks before the program goes out, i think they should get new researchers.  :o :o

Banjo

The programme isn't a really service for either buyer or seller though is it, it's just yet another reality tv type show. Plenty of people do seem to end up buying though...or intending to at least. We never get to see the end result.

Most of the presenters are time served in the property  field but they have  next to  no input on APITS. Danni Menzies isn't time served as far as I'm aware but she could present paint  drying and I'd still watch it.

Let's be honest about it, most of us have only been watching it all these years for Jasmine's cleavage.
