Hi , due to visit over the summer . Just wondering what medicines the pharmacies can sell over the counter if we need them .
Specifically, my son gets ear infection sometimes on holiday , could I buy him
antibiotics? Also can I buy cocodamol 30/500 if I needed it while I was away ?

TIA

You cannot buy antibiotics over the counter any longer.  Need to have your sons' EHIC card and go to the Centro Salud either in Puerto del Rosario or Antigua to get a prescription. The visit would be free but you will have to pay for the dispensing of the prescription in the Chemist. ( not much though). Don't know about the other product you mention. Remember, that the private clinics you see around will charge a hefty consultation fee if you go there.

Much easier and cheaper to bring anything that you may need with you.

You can't buy co-codemol either. Nothing with codiene in it without prescription.

Plus, if you have co-codemol in you luggage make sure you have a prescription for it.
Sniffer dogs can smell the codiene (cocaine). They'll take it off you. I know, it happened to me.
