Sometimes saying 'thanks' for a post seems inappropriate when I 'like' it. Anyone else agree?
Admin, would it be possible to add a 'like' button?

Hmm...what admin???

My thought exactly, although I did see admin logged in about 5 months ago at around 05:00, would suggest it is not on The island

woe10

This was asked a few years ago, can't be done apparentley.

el caballo hambriento

I prefer no like button as a like button is so hackneyed on Facebook especially.

waggy

I agree with El Cab: why is 'like' better than 'thanks' or more appropriate.

Spike On Q

If there is an "Admin" they cannot read! There has been NO moderator on this site for years! Hence it's decline to become a slanging match. Shame

IsThisForumStillGoingWow

We had a 'moderator' years ago..I'm not saying she was 'strict' but you couldn't even post "MY god!!" without her deleting the word and saying "Blasphemy is not allowed on this site" Seriously..there were more posts ammended or deleted in that month than in the previous 3 years..she didn't last long..very power crazy.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and im not sure about the former .....

SOLLYHOLLY!

batsh|t crazy woman!
Kinda miss her ;)

To change the "say thanks" to "like" would be the easy answer, its easy to rewrite the code too, but without an admin then that wont happen.

Q for TrumpSpark or other geek knowledgeable person  ;)

If the forum doesn't have an active administrator what would happen if the forum 'collapsed' (not sure of the correct wording here) like it did a couple of years ago? Would that just be 'the end'? That would be such a shame.

Thanks.

LIKE button required!  I don't want to say thank you but ' like ' for pointing someone in need of important information to a professional in that area... rather than to pay someone who hasn't a clue!

I agree

What about a green thumbs up & a red thumbs down. Means people could agree or disagree with a post without all the vitriol that is displayed at times

Great idea but shame it can't be implemented...

most probably that would be that, quite rare for a website to recover itself without some kind of human intervention.

I have my suspicions that this forum is being watched from a far, it's crashed a couple of times and been put right relatively quickly, admin doesn't have to login to control the workings of the forum, so from this side it may not look like he has logged in for a long while but on the front end of the forum he could be just as active as the rest of us!

Well some one blocked the ads for pharmaceuticals that were being posted, so I suspect you are right Sparky
