Can anyone tell us if it is possible to get fresh Turkeys on Fuerte? Maybe only frozen available?

Yes Spar in Atlantico had them last Christmas.

Have a feeling that Mercadona had a few as well. They are currently doing their 'Speak to our butchery department about your meats for the coming festive season' announcements in store, so you could always ask.

Hyperdino had fresh turkeys last year.
When we started to take off the plastic wrapping, the odor testified that this bird had been fresh very long ago.
Coming to think about that:
if the turkey didn't fly here on its own, it can't be fresh !

Yes they can, depending on your definition of fresh there is a method of Cryovac packaging that seals the product in a thick plastic bag that will extend the viability for 8/10 days, at least one major supermarket I know in the UK uses this to transport large sections of meat from its processing plant to its branches where it is then cut into normal size joints for Mrs housewife, when removed the product then has its natural shelf life dependant on what it is, a fresh turkey I would guess at 5 days from purchase to cooking. there is also a method by which they use some form of gas packaging which further extends viability.

I was in Mercadona today and asked for you. They will be getting fresh turkeys in approx. 1 week before Christmas. No need to reserve unless you need them to keep it for you until the last moment! However, this was my take on what was said to me in Spanish, so the 'reserve' bit might not be quite right!
A friend I was speaking to today said they have had one from there (Corralejo store) the last couple of years and they have been lovely.

Some years ago on the way to Los Molinos we turned left at the village, Parcelles? We then passed a turkey farm before reaching the resovoir, not sure wether the farm still there but worth looking to see.

Funnily enough Cockney we were in Los Molinos a couple of weeks ago, do our tourist guide act, and there was a turkey there amongst the ducks, whether an escapee or this years Christmas lunch I do not know.

Did not see a turkey when there in September but there was a peacock.
