What does a President charge for the role. Also what help can he/she expect?  Would they for example have an admin assistant?  This information is to try and help someone who is trying to set something up in Morocco and thought it would be helpful to see what is typical in Spain.  The complex is 160 apartments with 3 pools it has Garden with gardeners appointed and security teams both of which he would manage,  thanks

President is unpaid normally. They are voted in by the owners and become the legal representative of the community.

Then there will be an administrator, voted in and paid for by the community. They will look after the accounts and day to day management of the community in conjunction with the President.

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

Totally agree with Deso. This is the way some of them operate here. Perhaps it may be a slightly different set up. Would he be more of a manager than a President perhaps? Is it a paid post? Would he be living on site?
Not sure how it works in Morocco though.  8)

He sort of evolved into the role.  He lives on-site and worked for the building company.  They went bump and he stayed and tried to make the place work and has done a great job.  But recently it became more official and he was made president.  It is as you say an unpaid role but a that is not sustainable and if he left the place would go under.  I honestly didn't realise the president role in Spain was in paid.  The place is about 50% UK owners and we are desperate to find a solution so he will stay. Maybe he could be president and secretary and be paid for the secondary role? Don't know but Morocco is a nightmare for red tap. Thanks for the replies
