Hi. We are thinking of buying a quad bike to use when we are over here. Can anyone advise on the best place to look for one? Thanks

5 or 6 dealers in Rosario, i use/like the fella in MotoTech, 83 Severo Ochoa (near the two greys building) does some good second hand deals.

Can you ride these on a normal car license

JoanC

Thanks M and K - we'll have a look up there tomorrow.

JoanC

Yes Chris, you can drive them on a full car licence.

If this advice is not needed ignore me, but I was new to quad bikes when we bought ours and had to find a few things out. Are you looking for a single seat quad or one that seats two people? Two seater quads are more specific and less in number and it is illegal to ride two up on a single seater. Also, quads are plated according to the permitted speed they can do on the road. Red number plated quads are restricted to 45kph on highways whereas black plated quads are unlimited. Availability of used quads is limited on the island. We had to go to Tenerife to get exactly what we wanted.

Thanks MLA, there are some interesting ones there.

JoanC

Thanks Cholis. Advice is always welcome. Do you know how often the quad needs an itv, and how much is the tax. Also any advice on insurance? Apologies for all the questions.

ITV every two years, same as a motorbike. Insurance will depend on what quad you buy, engine size etc, our road tax for a 500cc quad was â,¬19.70 this year and insurance â,¬170 ish with Mapfre, but there were cheaper options (we preferred the Mapfre policy)

Putting links here for two sales sites here with the search set up for quads in the Canary Islands. Think someone else already suggested Granocasion.

Thanks very much Chollis. That's really helpful.
