If your base was Corralejo & you were to drive to the south of the island for one day on the beach, which beach would you choose & why?
Thanks

My favourite is Sotavento.  Go to Risco del Paso and walk south, and you can wander naked along miles of lovely soft golden sand, with a gentle slope into the sea.  But there are no facilities, so you might prefer to go a bit further south to Mal Nombre, where there are sunbeds for rent and the excellent Tierra Dorada beach bar (which also has toilets).  Try the sizzling garlic prawns!

It really depends. Wind? Tides? crowded or not?

If it was me I'd drive down to a parking place near the part of the beach with SURFERS ISLAND - Surf, Kite & Sail Fuerteventura or whatever it's called. A couple of different Hotel IBEROSTAR in the same basic area.

Walk towards the water. If you turn left/north the area is protected by the cliffs. Wind is less of an issue. But if the tide is in much of the area floods. It's also fairly narrow so not the best place if you're shy and don't like beach walkers.

If you turn right towards the light house the beach is huge. Very wide. Various loungers. If the wind is up you'll get sand blasted.  But even when it's full it's not crowded. If you're shy you can stay near the back and not worry about the walkers.

For a one off day, trip I would say Coffete. It is one of the most mind blowing beaches in the world & worth visiting for no other reason than that. Note, although it's not as hard to get to as in the past, it does involve some uninsured off-roading. You can always bottle out at the view point at the top of the pass.  Also, no matter how inviting it looks, do not swim there as I have no idea what Ryanair charge for a body bag in the hold.
If you want a swim before returning, Playa Juan Gomez on the East side of the peninsula is a good bet, conditions permiting
