Had a quick look into it and Turkish airways dont come under the EU so i think we have to deal with them direct ,i think i may need the gods to shine on us

Makes a few violent drunken passengers seem like just a mild inconvenience.

Personally I will stay away from them and take the risks although next year should be ok with Lufthansa and Swiss air  not sure about internal  flights in South America though

From what you have said, it appears Turkish airlines actually did a good job..Firstly re the Iphone..well done to the Captain. It couldn`t be identified and he followed what is called Standard operating procedures(sop`s) and went back to Istanbul..The reason being he knew they would be out of hours and it was the quickest way to get a new crew, rather than a land away in say Bulgaria..

  Then having got to Manchester, it was in the face of a hell of a gale but fair does they gave it a go, did a go around and after 2 goes they are usually mandated to go somewhere else (sop`s again) which is what they did..There have been many instances in the past when they gave it too many goes and ended up with a lot pf broken people. Inconvenient, most certainly, but the Turkish Pilots gave a very good account of themselves.

not aruging with anything you said but what i would say is that when we landed back in Istanbul they said we were waiting for fresh food to arrive ??  it had only been in the oven an hour,they said it couldnt be reheated??? finally when it arrived the cabin crew put there coats on and off they went out of hours ,seemed to me it was just a ploy from the crew to get out of flying ,surely just serve the food a bit earlier  or am i reading to much into this

Don`t know all the facts but food and ovens are another thing with strict time rules..sure likes of you and me would just say `get on with it and if its number two we`ll leave it`..we`ve both been round many blocks I`m sure  but rules is rules..Due to the passengers being on board the crew had to remain, even though they knew they were being changed, until told otherwise...complicated businesses are these and not for the feint hearted

It was just a strange thing to say we are waiting for new food it cant be reheated ? So that says to me its in the ovens and they have turned them off so why? Anyway its done the food was craaap to boot as well
