The latest thing to hit the pavements of Caleta De Fuste. Electric Motorized Scooters.

I was almost knocked down (and a few others) by one of these, ridden by a young girl, doing about 15 mph, weaving in and out of the people on busy pavement down by Villa Florida. She had a small boy stood on the front, with no helmet or anything.

I've been told they were banned in Lanzarote, so they came over here. They have a small sign on the front saying "rent me"

I saw (and nearly encountered) these last month too Woe. We were walking down to Miles Away and a young couple were whizzing along by The Trafalger on them. It's quite busy along there and I thought they looked pretty dangerous too. Didn't notice who was hiring them out though.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and im not sure about the former .....

Lots in Corralejo too, as well as the ones that have a V foot platform.  And those things with two big wheels side-by-side.  I don't think it will be long before they are banned here or that they must have a licence.  As they have motors of some sort they should be licensed and on the road I think not on footpaths or bike lanes.   :-(

What? between scooters, skateboarders, mad cyclists, restaurant touts, holiday club touts....I think it might be safer to walk down the middle of the main road

haydon
