Just received this information via another source which apparantly is quoting a facebook page for further information:

The Treasury is considering removing the personal tax allowance from non-resident UK citizens even though those with 'government pensions' (police, fire, armed forces, civil servants L/A employees etc etc) are required by law to pay tax in the UK and cannot take their pension 'tax free' and pay tax in their new country of residence.

The proposal, if proceeded with, will mean that each expat taxpayer will lose £2120 per annum (20% of the current UK personal allowance of £10600). A retired couple will lose £4240 per annum!

For some reason the facebook reference will not copy and paste so here goes: www.facebook.com/groups/333097876897188

The Facebook page reference is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/333097876897188/

First I`ve heard of it but it has come from a reliable source and will affect anyone with a UK pension regardless of whether you have no option but to pay UK income tax ie at source..Dont do Facebook so cannot enlighten any further. If I do get any further info I will pass it on
