The harbour improvements look great and locals should be proud.I am concerned that there is no fence to stop people falling about 10 foot on to the rocks along the prom here.Does there need to be an accident before this is done or are is this waiting to be done?
Does anyone know?

I raised this same question with the directors of Barcelo more than 10 years ago, when I had a Bar in the harbour.
Customers would risk there necks walking across from the Paseo to the harbour.

The answer to your question is, they didn't give a damn then, and they don't give a damn now

Agree with you Joseph, the new harbour looks great, also agree re the lack of fencing, cannot understand why they have not put anything up..

Also, look up the meaning of the word Improvement:  "To make something better".

Well it seems to me that most people are seeing it for the first time, as it is now. "If it's not broken, don't fix it". All the character has gone, from the working Harbour that was bustling, day and night.
They got rid of the little boat-repair yard, as they said the fibre-glass dust was bad for the Sea-Lions, which shouldn't be there in the first place. Etc .. etc ..
