Are you allowed to be naked along at Morro Jable incase we are staying at that end of town rather than Jandia ?

jg

It is not forbidden but is not very nude friendly in my opinion.

Faubus

Nudity is not so common there, but there are usually a few naturists at the west end of the beach (which is closest to Morro Jable village).

But if you walk towards the lighthouse, the nudist-friendly area begins just after passing the Robinson's resort.

That end of the beach seems to vary greatly from day to day. We've been there some days (right in front of the high sandbank that the footpath goes along the top of), when over 80% of people on the beach were naked, and other days when hardly anyone was. Like many beaches on the island, probably depends who gets there first.

So it's certainly possible, and no-one seems to mind, that's the great thing about the South. But if you don't feel comfortable you can always walk along towards the lighthouse as Faubus suggests, where there are 2 sections of sunbeds used almost exclusively by naturists.

I and many others swim naked in front of the Rui Palace Hotel and / or Robinson every morning. There are always some people nude on this part of the beach, although I personally would head towards the lighthouse.

We've noticed Sunlovers - or someone anyway- taking their  morning dip from Riu Palace but the beach is near empty at that time and we don't recommend nude generally at the Morro Jable end. Walk just a bit north and as posted already there are two blocks of sunbeds for hire on the beach which are all naturist - down from the north end of the Robinson hotel property.  :-*

It's not us from the Rui Palace - we stay in Sol Jandia Mar. There are quite a few regulars from the Rui and Robinson who toddle down in their robes before taking the morning 'au naturel' swim. :o 8)

Is this because it upsets the locals? Or something else?

Users of south end of beach - Morro Jable -are mainly local family and friends groups, and not into nudism, or even toplessness.

Thanks. Looking at the map our hotel/apartment is north of Rui so I assume in the safe zone. Wouldn't want to give anybody a heart attack.

Locals are on all beaches, not just on the beach at the end of Morro Jable.
Too many so-called "nudists" enjoy the game of not to be seen naked on clothing-optional beaches and unintentionally behave like "hidden exhibitionists" who are uncomfortable with their own nudity. IMHO, that's what upsets people and makes people nervous.
From my understanding, on all Fuerteventura beaches, it's perfectly legal to wear a swimsuit or to be naked.
Enjoy your life, and stop worrying about the things that don't matter.
Just do your thing, naked or not,  and be normal.

My experience and in talking with locals is that, frankly, they don't give a number two. As long as we visitors contribute to economy, we are encouraged to keep showing up. Sure, they or their friends and family want to be in danger when we are around. But are they feeling that out presence is affecting the culture of the island? By and large -  hell no.

So show up, be friendly, spend Euros, and spend most of your time on the playa.
