Couple of first time naturists looking a bit of advice on our planned trip to Fuerteventura.  We will be staying in the Jandia Princess in late February.  Apologies this is a bit of a mixed bag of questions, but we are not too sure what to expect.
- How cold is the naturist pool?  Is it heated at all?
- Both of us are shaved.  Is this normal or will this raise a few eyebrows in the hotel/sauna?
- What`s the etiquette about physical contact in the adult only area?  It`s normal for us to have a kiss and cuddle in the pool or on the sunbeds when on holiday.  Will this be frowned upon in the Adult only area?
- Are we likely to be pestered by other couples wanting to do more than chat in the sauna?  I can`t see anything in the other posts to suggest this is an issue but thought I better ask
- Any other do`s and don`ts?

Thanks

MinRich

Just because you are nude does not reduce your standards , do what you would do with clothes on . Just because you are nude doesn't mean you've got to have sex with everyone either .
Read a bit more about naturism i think before you go.
Finally being shaved is the norm isn't it ? If you were the other way you would be an oddity .

I should explain that last year, whilst in a nude sauna in a regular hotel in Germany, we were pestered by a couple. We are not prudes but it was annoying that a polite no did not seem to be enough.

I will do some more reading up though.  Hubby seemed convinced that the guys don't shave

You'll see everything from Kojak to covered in fur. Nobody will care either way.

Don't bother with the pool. You have the Atlantic on the doorstep (Which is warmer) Can't see anybody bothering you in the JP sauna. The only hassle you might get is a Brit wanting to use it in swimming gear & the Germans kicking off about it.
Best naturist spot on the beach is just to the North of the JP just past the Hobicat / windsurf center. The sunbeds here tend to be used by naturists. Nice beach & good access to the sea. Be warned, all sunbeds on the beach are owned / franchised by the Ayunamiento, not the hotels so you have to pay.

This is the beach, taken from Esquinzo to the North. The more traditional naturists use the stone circles our spot is just around the first 'bend.'

As far as being shaved is concerned, dont be as you will see as many men and women shaved as not. The first time we went I had the same worries.

You've got me thinking now. We were at Gran Hotel Natura, Corralejo a few months back and I've no idea whether all our fellow guests were shaved, fuzzy or plaited. But then I can't remember their faces either.

I don't think it matters any more as everyone does what they want nowadays. In the 70s when Sue first went smooth it was weird and shocking, people looked, but some copied her. 80-90s smooth was catching on. After about 2000 it seemed almost compulsory, everyone had to follow the fashion. I never worked out how it spread so fast especially among teenagers. Now its softened a lot and there's a real mix of smooth trimmed and fully furred. Doesn't matter, once you've been seen they don't notice any more and you really wont get judged

Clean shaven is most definitely the norm on the beaches down south. Moustaches and goatee beards are not in vogue - particularly for the gals!  :P

Just came back and can now answer my own questions

- How cold is the naturist pool?  Is it heated at all?
It's FREEZING in February

- Both of us are shaved.  Is this normal or will this raise a few eyebrows in the hotel/sauna?
Everyone seemed to be shaved in the hotel

- What`s the etiquette about physical contact in the adult only area?  It`s normal for us to have a kiss and cuddle in the pool or on the sunbeds when on holiday.  Will this be frowned upon in the Adult only area?
We just did our own thing which seemed to be the norm

- Are we likely to be pestered by other couples wanting to do more than chat in the sauna?  I can`t see anything in the other posts to suggest this is an issue but thought I better ask
We were approached by one guy who looked like he was in his eighties.  Other than that the only pestering we got was form the gym instructor who had some sort of regular 5pm torture event in the Sauna involving too much heat, stretching and ice for our tastes.  Germans seemed to be into it though.
