Ayuntamiento are due to be planting a very large auricaria tree on the roundabout below Mercadona in Corralejo tomorrow, Friday - be interesting to see how long it stays upright as this roundabout is very exposed to the elements! I was talking to the workmen today trying to find out what they were up to (being nosy really) as they had removed the street light from the centre of the roundabout and left a very large hole. When I mentioned the wind that was forecast they just shrugged and laughed. I have to complement them on the care they have taken though. Over the last couple of years I have put in loads of plants on this roundabout and they really had done their best to avoid damaging them with the JCB, even digging one plant up and putting it aside to give them the access they needed.

Heavy rain showers in Caleta at 6am and 7am.  Probably not as bad as it might have been.
We are on still on Orange Alert, today, for wind and rough coastal waters, and a Yellow Alert for rain.
