We took the kids to Oasis Park last Monday and was really disappointed to see that the sea lions weren't there.  Not sure about anyone else but this is the highlight of our visits and the kids love seeing the show.  Apparently the pools are being refurbished.  There was no sign of the sea lions so they must've been moved to another location until their pools are ready.  That said , they still had a really great day out and took the camel ride which they all said was brilliant.  The staff at the ticket kiosk say that they should be back in time for Christmas so we'll go again then to see them.

Sea lions are not clowns

Sea lions are highly social and gregarious animals, and are usually found in large groups with complex social structures. A Water Park is no place for them, and it is simply not possible to provide a suitable environment for sea lions in such a place.
Take your children there in the middle of the night, and listen to them howling to get out of their pens.

Magoo

Mrs Magoo & myself enjoy visiting the cactus gardens at Lajita. Unfortunately, you can't just buy a ticket for the gardens without the zoo. The last time we went, a few of the animals were in poor shape. A chimp was complacently out of it's head with stress & was dragging a tyre repeatedly backwards & forwards. There were one ore two other animals exhibiting the same behavior.

They have spent quite a bit of cash improving the place since we first started coming to Fuerty, but I think we really need to look at what exhibits can be kept without damaging them
