New road

According to Fuertextra, the new road is close to completion, but it will not be opened until the Tamaragua/Corralejo stretch is finished, to avoid undue pressure on this section, which is already disrupted by preparations for duelling.
Unfortunately, there is no budget for finishing this until 2017 at the earliest, so we can enjoy the beautiful, but dangerous, dunes road for a few more years yet.

It start at Corralejo, from the bypass, along the route of the existing La Oliva road, till just past Tamaragua when in curves off to the left through the mountains to join the road from La Caldereta to the coast. It is the northern section of a proposed motorway from Corrralejo to Morro Jable.

No EU money has been allocated to the Corralejo section of the Autovia, hence the delay as The Canarian Government has no cash,  whereas the section around Costa Calma has been allocated EU funds and is being built now and will be completed in 2015

Looks like they are making a new juction at the turn off to El cotillo at the Tamaragua end of the new road,not sure if its a slip road or they are going to put a roundabout in ,but been working the last 5 days ive been here ,yet another thing that might be finished when next over in Sept

Can tell you where it didn't go. 24/7 medical care at the airport. And dog mess cleaners in Corralejo among others.

Where it could have gone?. Maybe wages for the batallions of traffico, guardia and policia local patrolling the chronically over policed island.

If it was an abbreviation, it would be Corra. Not (oh so english sounding) corrie.
We have the time here to pronounce all the  syllables so lets just call this town Corralejo
