The 2 blokes who are up there remind me of Fred Dibnah and his mate Harry who used to go up chimneys all over Lancashire with a ladder a couple of ropes and a lump hammer. The good old days before the health and safety boys shut the UK down.

Fred would'nt have bothered with a lump hammer he'd a slung a couple of acy bottles and a cutting torch on his back and the next thing you know a voice in the distance shouting;-

UPDATE 24/04/2014
Work started on the last crane, arms are now off, just the tower remaining. :D :D

Mr G

As of lunchtime today, the last bit of old crane has been removed.
Still using the new mobile crane to move a few bits about, but those eyesores have now all gone, hopefully all clear by the end of the day.
Another improvement for Caleta, one of many recent improvements..

Spike On Q

Fred Dibnah - a convoy of steam engines closed Bolton town centre as they escorted his body to be interned, another GREAT English man

It seems almost a shame to see the cranes go - while they stood, there always seemed hope that the development might get finished. Now it will probably just stand there as a testament to somebody's failed greed, and investors losses. It'll take probably take tens of thousands of years for nature to reclaim the site.
