CAR HIRE HELP PLEASE

Hi, I am travelling in august this year for a week, need a car to hire from the airport and drop off back to the airport.

Please can anyone help, as I don't have a credit card, wanting to pre book in advance with no hidden charges to pay on arrival as have experienced problems in the past in Greece and was a nightmare

Most of the companies recommended by forum people do not require payment in advance and allow free cancellations. They will also accept payment in cash on arrival and do not have nasty surprises.

They are:-

The first three have desks at the airport (Cabrera Medina use Cicar desk) but Plus car meet you in the main airport car park and they are consequently cheaper as they have fewer overheads.

Avoid Orlando and Goldcar.

Pluscar will accept any credit card or UK debit card. I have a fairfx Euro card, load it in the uk and you can use it as a debit card for shop purchases or hole in the wall withdraws.

I have been visiting Fuerte for 15 years and have have found Pluscar to give exceptional service as well as a great price.

One word of warning, August is considerably more expensive as it is classed as the Spanish holiday season.

Also avoid Hertz and Avis - bad news!!

It would be wise to look beyond Plus Car. I did a quick check and Top Car Autoreisen was at least 10% less for the time I needed to book. They may not require a credit card. However, both Plus Car and Top Car Autoreisen expected a card from me.
