Lovely film Duncolm but got to say it has put me off wanting to go there.   I had vision of a very deserted island when in fact it appears to be overrun with day trippers, like I would be.   The landscape seems no different from the north of Fuerty between Corry and Cotillo which has few people about.   The boat trip would be nice but think that is all can see in it for me.

Are there any people living on the island?

Dan once you get off the main beach its very quiet ,the tourist dont seem to have the ability to walk 300m  ,walked around up to the lighthouse and top of the old volcano a couple of times ,their are a few houses where some people live ,also a little bar and a cafe/restaurant

The problem is that as the visitors arrive in boatloads it takes a while for them to disperse, so the paths are always busy to start with. By the time I was heading back along the main path from the lighthouse I hardly saw a soul.

If nothing else I've added to the list of islands I've climbed to the highest point of.

I don't think there are any full time residents on the island nowadays, but some of the houses in Puertito are used as holiday accommodation. There's a little restaurant and quite a few boats are kept there. The afternoon boat we traveled back on unloaded a group of guys who were going to stay a night or two, judging by the provisions they were carrying, a lot of which was beer.
