House Wiring

Hi, I have recently purchased a house in Fuerteventura and need to fit some lights to the wires coming from the ceiling. Can anyone tell me what the grey wires in the ceiling light fittings are for?  They are usually blue, brown and green but some of them in my house have blue, brown and grey instead.
