Must mention CDC No5 with the 'David James' bad afro: looks to be a quality player and they'll do well to keep hold of him.

He's the lad I've mentioned on here before - Aridane Hernández Umpierrez. He was actually on the books of Real Madrid and Liverpool as a youth and more recently, Valladolid and Alaves. He's actually from Tuineje. Looks like a quality player.

I didn't get to the game Sunday so cheers for the report. Good result  ;)

Spoke to Victor last night (the guy who sells the raffle tickets at the ground). Apparently, Corralejo's game this week v Gomera is on Saturday at 19:00. Something to do with Gomera's flights he was saying. He was actually telling me that him and three other guys put money from their own poackets into the club on a weekly basis. He was also saying that he doesn't even know if they could 'cope' with being promoted as the club is so small, under-staffed, under financed etc. I did tell him that there is interest and demand from holiday makers and some better advertising of games, making merchandise more readily available rtc would be a start for helping the club to progress. He was also telling me about Dino, saying that he is originally from Gran Canaria and that he was very lonely here without any family etc. He said they did their best to make him happy and try and help him settle but he eventually got too homesick and went back to Gran Canaria.

By the time you arrive in corrie there should have been posters up advertising the game.
These would be at the ground, in the danny sports shop on main st, in the exchange shop opposite, lobos view restaurant on the prom near the tourist office, banana bar on the prom, the supporters bar by the main hyperdino, etc. They will be a4 size and bright orange so wherever you're staying you should be able to find one, although if carlo has spoken to someone at the ground this would tend to be reliable.
Enjoy the game.

Union Puerto are at home on Saturday 19 January at 5.30pm.  They play at the Los Pozos ground near the hospital in Puerto del Rosario.

Pancake

Thanks for the info on the posters have seen them a few times in the shops never know if you can rely on them they never seem to play games at regular times. should be interesting going to a game at night time only ever been in the day.

Yep, deffo 19:00. The guy I spoke to (Victor) is a local fella and has been affiliated with the club since its inception, he's the guy who sells the raffle tickets at the game too. He told me that they have had to make the kick off 19:00 because of UD Gomera's flight times. It's a good job I bumped into him actually, as I haven't seen any posters around for this game and I wouldn't have known myself either. Just checked the soccerway website too and they now have the kick off time correctly as 19:00  ;)

Enjoy the game  ;)

CD Corralejo 4 v 1 UD Gomera

Great performance from Corralejo tonight. First half was pretty close, Corralejo were awarded a penalty just before half time, after a great bit of skill in the box (a Maradona turn, for the uninitiated). Second half, Corralejo looked the business, a nice move lead to a simple tap in. Gomera scored late on in the game, a nice move down the left wing lead to a goal,  bad goal keeping from the Corrie 'keeper, the ball went under his body, what should've been an easy save. Corrie scored two late goals, both in injury time. All in all, a great performance fron Corrie, the best I've seen to be honest. The No 9 was man of the match. The wind made conditions quite difficult at times but Corrie outclassed UD Gomera. Well done CD Corralejo.

Captain Sensible

Not so good news in the Preferente League for Union Puerto.

They lost 0 - 1 at home to Real Sporting San José.

Glad you managed to get to the game. I was also in the little club shop at half-time, mate of mine bought a shirt and a hat. You're not the Scouse couple are you? We were talking with some Scousers in the shop, just wondering if it was you. Us Scousers have a 'radar' for fellow Scouse accents  :)

Are they selling club shirts again, Carlo?

Yes mate. I managed to get one from Dany Sports before Xmas for my lad back home. However, at the club, they had everything last night - pin badges, baseball caps, sweatshirts, wooly hats, kits etc etc. The full strip (well, shirts and shorts) is only 25€. The 'shop' is where the tickets are sold.

Captain Sensible

That's good news :D.  There's been a lot of interest in buying shirts by forum members in the past.
