CD Corralejo - Fixtures & Results for 2012/2013

The new 3rd Division (Canarias) starts this Sunday 26 August.

According to this link http://www.resultados-futbol.com/partido/Corralejo/Zocas the Corralejo v Las Zocas game kicks off at 10.30am.

Can anyone in Corralejo please confirm this if they see a poster.

Been back in the UK for two weeks, just got back to Fuerte this morning, so missed the first game of the season. Will be going to the Estrella CF game on 9th September.

Hi Carlo and Captain, do either of you know what time the kick off for the Estrella game will be on the 9th Sept or is it still a secret?? I am really hoping we will get to see a game this holiday as we have had many disappointments in the past with that crazy habit of changing the time. Fingers crossed this time.

I'm still actually trying to find out myself. There are no posters around yet, that I've seen anyway. Nothing in Dany Sport or Hiperdino yet, so I'm still stumped myself. If and when I find out, I'll be sure to post on this thread. I'm supposed to be taking my father-in-law, so I desperatley need to know myself.

Sometimes I'm not sure whether the time they give is Mainland Spain time, which is 1 hour ahead!

Pretty sure none of the games I've been to have kicked off at 11:30 though mate, 12:30 - 13:30 seems to have been the norm, if I recall correctly.

Said many a time before, they don't do themselves any favours at all with the lack of advertising etc. What they fail to realise is that there is interest for these games and it seems there are a lot of like-minded people who want to go. If they go to the trouble of actually printing posters, why they can't put them up a week in advance is beyond me. I'll check Hiperdino entrance in the Campanario later tonight and tomorrow also. If I don't find anything out, I will just have to assume it's going to be 12:30.

This website says KO is 13:30 and the other one says 12:30, so still none the wiser. I'll have a look outside HiperDino today and see if there's a poster yet

It wasn't so bad when the clubs's website was up and running.

I'm sure they would get 50 - 100 more to watch if the ko date and time was publicised a week before.

Well, KO was 12:30 after all (well 12:35 but we won't quibble

)

Corralejo played poorly first half and squandered chances. Estrella were the better side in the first 45.

Second half, Corralejo played much better, more balls into feet rather than 'hit and hope' long balls. The No 10 for Corrie was probably Corralejo's best player, although the left winger for Estrella played really well too. Corrie had a goal disallowed for a (dubious) offside and also hit the bar with a header from a corner. Both keepers made some great saves throughout the game. All in all, a good win for Corrie, without playing particularly well.

For all the Dino fans, he didn't play and wasn't even on the bench. He was there however, as I saw him leaving in his car at the end.

Gilly, did you manage to get to the game?

The new season in the Preferente Canarias Division started today.

The result for our local team was:

Real Sporting de San Jose 1 Union Puerto del Rosario 0

Next Saturday (22 September) is a home game for Puerto against Ferreras CF.

A local derby on Sunday:

CD Corralejo v Lanzarote with a midday ko (I think!!)

Union Puerto del Rosario have a home game against Ferreras CF on Saturday evening.

Just to let people know, the Corralejo v Lanzarote game is actually tomorrow (Sat 22nd Sept) and not Sunday. KO is at 17:00. Posters have actually been up in advance, makes a pleasant change!!

Yes its 5pm kick off, there was actually a poster up outside the tourist information office by the harbour yesterday!! Surely they won't change it before then?

It's deffo tomorrow at 17:00, Gill. I doubt they'll change it before then, though you never know here, but I very much doubt it. It's the 'game of the season' so to speak. Probably why it's been well advertised and it's on a Saturday evening.

Hi Carlo, unfortunately we didn't manage to get to the game as we had landed on Thurs evening (6th Sept) and didn't get really sorted where we were staying till the Friday and we couldn't believe how hot it was and thought it might be a bit overpowering watching a match in the mid-day sun so opted for time in the pool instead. We were there in "spirit" with you though and had a full update of the game from a local man we chat to in the Campanario centre. Think we will be better to watch a game when we visit when its not so hot, where had the wind gone? Good luck for tomorrow and the local derby. Will be waiting to hear the result from you or Captain.

CD Corralejo 0 v 0 UD Lanzarote

Honours even in a closely contested game of few chances. Lanzarote were awarded a penalty around the half hour mark, the penalty was tame to say the least and was duly saved by the Corralejo 'keeper, with the rebound being fired into the side netting.

The second half was more lively, as with the Estrella game, still few chances to speak of though. Corralejo were denied a nailed-on penalty in the dying minutes, however, the draw was the fair result.

The left back (No 3) was probably man of the match for Corralejo - comfortable on the ball, willing to go forward on the overlap and made some vital blocks and interceptions.
