100 Warsaw taxis have been given  mobile advertising units in a new campaign to promote the Canary Islands. Pictures will change on a rotating basis every 10 seconds.

Ricardo Fernandez de la Puente Armas stated that "the archipelago received in 2011 some 150,000 Polish tourists and is considered an emerging market with a positive development."

These devices, which have dimensions of 70.5 by 29.7 centimeters, have two advertising space, on each side of the vehicle, but they have the feature that the images will be seeing in rotation every 10 seconds, it will allow to view three different images on each side, making it a total of six. The device features LED lighting at the public offering perfect visibility of the images at night.

This new advertising medium, which opens with the image of the Canary Islands, has a powerful ability to brand visibility given its moving and rotating, allowing it to multiply the impact each taxi travels an average of 200 miles each day in the city, with stops at major entertainment, sports areas, transportation, government buildings, tourist areas in general, etc..

The Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Canary Executive, Ricardo Fernandez de la Puente Armas, states that "according to 2011 data, 18% of Poles did some traveling outside their borders, of which 2.1%, about 150,000 tourists , chose to come to the Canary Islands, with the islands of Fuerteventura and Tenerife preferred.. "

Currently, the importance of tourism from Poland to the Canaries is 1.2%, but is gaining strength year after year.

Polish tourists are attracted mainly by the good weather and sunshine. Tourists are younger than average, between 31 and 45, and usually come in pairs, children or other companions. They purchase their trips through tour operators and agencies,  about 15 days before they travel. The average stay is between 8 to 15 days and their average spending is about 120 euros a day.

They want comfort  and  good hotels and restaurants , they need to rest and relax,  and escape from daily routine, although they are also motivated by the volcanic landscapes and contact with nature. On the survey, almost 97% described their holiday as good or very good.

The Strategic Plan 2012-2016 Canary Islands Promotional priority objective is to position the Canary Islands as a unique destination, competitive and preferential.

According to the figures it seems like all of the other nationalities are bigger spenders than the Irish and English.  :-X

Dear me where do these journos get this rubbish from.Poland is a little more properous than it was under the Ruskies true, but the thought of them as the last of the big spenders is riseable....The ones over here always seem to prefer Lidl to Harrods...dunno why   ::)

Its the same in Ireland Voldemort. Actually most Lidl employees here are Polish. Last year they were handing out questionnaires in Fuerteventura airport  to all of the passengers. That might be where the statistics came from.

We run a b&b in Prestick (appletreebandb.co.uk) and enjoy the custom from many polish people.  They tend to be very well mannered, polite and professional people who are not shy at spending money on products and services that they want.  The stereo typical image of the poles is way off the mark, in my opinion.  Poland is also the home of many height tech industries, if you've used google maps/streetviev then the chances are that images you looked at we're captured and processed by crews from Poland.

By classing al the poles together you are agreeing that all English on holiday are offensive racist lager louts who like to 5hag on their balconies every night, ;).  Absolutely not the case but you get my point.
