Flew out with Jet2 on Tuesday, second time I have flown with them, usually go Ryanair with NO complaints about their service, I just wanted to take advantage of a Tuesday flight...some observations...
Generally more relaxed experience wth no queuing/clambering to get board first.
Staff very friendly
Planes appear more spacious and seats more comfortable. I usually book emergency exit seats but decided to try normal seats - I won't do it again although there  is a little more legroom than on Ryanair.
Had to check in a bag but nearly got stung for overweight hand luggage...fortunately my laptop bag could be carried on as a second personal item and not included in the weight.
No checking weight or hand luggage size at the gate.
Onboard, passengers were offered extra leg rooms seats for £17.50
Much more room on board for cabin baggage...I put this down to the fact that many people are on Jet2 holidays and so have hold luggage and therefor less hand luggage.
Flight left and arrived early.
No hot water on board for coffee/tea.
Front toilet not working.
No flowing water in one of rear toilets.

That's the second time I have flown with Jet2...would I use them again? Yes, but for me it all comes down to price....and Ryanair usually work out best for price and I have no complaints about their service.
For those that complain about being allocated random seats now the answer is simple..stump up the little bit extra to book.
One thing I have noticed though with the new St Michael algorithm for seat allocation...you are much more likely to get allocated an extra legroom seat than before...i don't think their software engineers are smart enough to exclude these seats in their 'random' calculation. ;) ;) ;)
