Euro Transfer to the UK

What is the best and secure way to transfer a large amount of Euro from a house sale back to the UK?

We used Transferwise, very straightforward.
I take it you have a Spanish bank acct ?

We second that we use them every month so simple as to make us  initially dubious but it works, requested a £1000 transfer at 08:30 this morning, money in my Spanish account at 12:30.

I think we need to remember the OP said a large sum on money from house sale.
To transfer £100k would cost €497....I don't know how this compares to doing a bank transfer?
