Personally I would go with a couple of Estate Agents, Repo property,s, at least the ones we looked at appear cheap, but in most cases IMHO need a lot of work, examples of the 3/4 we looked at, no kitchen furniture, boilers removed doors removed 2 had been vandalised, go with estate agents then make your own choice.

Does anybody know a webesite for bank  sales? I've seen some for the mainland but I can't remember finding any for the island

The Solbank property website is Solvia

Archer

Repo sales: Sareb, Altamira, Servihabitat, Haya.

Johnrgby comment is a sweeping generalisation! Some repo's are total wrecks and have some hidden problems, but others are real gems and can be had for a knock down price if you do your homework.

Do you research, and be persistent. Not so many around now as the market picks up.

If you use an agent on a repo, you will pay a higher price to cover his/her commission.

Good luck

We have just bought a bank repo through Carmen Villezan. Very simple process. As Archer says, some good some bad, we did a lot of research & narrowed it down a lot before we sifted out the best (in our opinion) three or four & then viewed. Luckily we got one that was untouched. Only needs a kitchen.
The only thing is bank repo's (as far as I am aware) have a selling price, not negotiable but usually well below value. Hope this helps.
