Hi All, and belated Happy New Year

I posted back in the summer about planning to relocate to FV.  Since then, I've put my flat on the market, and a sale is now going through.  Thought I'd better nip over for a bit of a look round.

I'm booked into the Beach Bungalows for a week from Wed (11/1).  I expect them to be basic but adequate - would that be about right?  Best way to get there from the airport - no. 3 bus, or taxi?

Main activity for the week will be looking for an apartment, but I don't know where the estate agents are in Caleta!  Or which to try and which to avoid.

Any suggests or recommends will be much appreciated.

Adequate is about right, No 3 bus will leave you with a bit of a climb up the hill, depends on how much luggage you are bringing with you, you looking to rent or buy?

Hi Sir Real,

You may be better of hiring a car.  especially if you want to go and see different places.
Car hire is cheap and would save you on taxi to and from the airport.  (avoid Goldcar if you do decide to hire)
There are few agents dotted in and around Caleta,  you can't miss them.  Good Luck

Agent's priorities:-

Themselves (fees, commissions etc)

The vendor (that's who's paying them)

You.

Good idea to google  "Freedom for sale". They list pretty much all available properties. Fill the online enquiry form for those of interest and the agent will email you, so you can book a viewing. All agents are friendly and accommodating. Worked for us - best of luck.

Try looking on Idealista. Gives you an sample of what's on offer.
As said before, most agents have the same stuff and charge the vendor high commission.
If you find it advertised on Idealista privately, OR a repossesion, then you may get a better deal going direct to make an offer.
Most agents will come a collect you to view whatever you choose.

Second & Third that. Karen was ace. Honest & open. However, doesn't matter which you use, make sure you get a good lawyer & make sure all i's are dotted & t's crossed. We used Fuerteventura Law, Louise was brilliant & all went smoothly. I had kept an eye on all the agent web sites for a couple of years & had (as far as possible) Sussed out the better options before we viewed any.

Hi All, and many thanks for all the replies and helpful suggestions.

John - my plan is to buy in Calleta, once I've sold my flat, and moved to my short-term accommodation in London.  (This avoids being in a sell/buy chain).  I might do a 6 month rental, but I'd prefer to buy outright.

I assumed that agents will take you to view properties, so I shouldn't need a hire car, but I'll play that by ear.  Meanwhile, I'll go online and compile a short list.

Scariest thing right now is clearing-out my flat, so I won't be shipping unnecessary junk.  Don't think I need those boxes of floppy disks and LPs!
